The reservation for the corporation elections in the state has been finalized.
50% of Mayor’s seats are for for women. Of the 16 corporation mayors, 8 seats were reserved for women.
The AP Election Commission has finalized the reservation for 16 mayor corporations across the state. Municipal Commissioner Vijay Kumar issued the Gazette Notification on Saturday night. This time around 50 per cent of women have been reserved for mayor. Of the 16 seats, 8 were reserved for women. 50% seats are reserved for women on International Women’s Day. The YSP government led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy has reportedly allocated a considerable number of seats to women in panchayat seats.
The Andhra Pradesh local bodies election schedule was released on Saturday. State Elections Commissioner N. Rameshkumar said the elections would be held in all three installments. The judicial and MPTC elections in one installment, the panchayat elections will be conducted in two installments. Municipal elections will be held in a single phase. The JPPTC and MPTC elections will be held on the 21st of this month and the results will be announced on the 24th. Municipal polls will be held on the 23rd of this month and the results will be announced on the 27th. The first phase of panchayat elections will be held on 27th of this month and second installment panchayat elections on 29th.
